Saturday April 6th 10am-2pm - Live Birds of Prey! 

Join us in welcoming Diana from the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Center and some of their Raptor Ambassadors to our store! There will be a booth set up where you can meet the visiting birds and learn more about them and time to ask all your questions!


* This event will be part of our Bird Talk Passport Program - Bring your Bird Talk Passport or ask for one at the store that day, the passport will give you a place to collect stamps at each event and take notes if you wish. After you attend 10 Bird Talks you can enjoy 10% off any product of your choice in the store!

 

 

Saturday April 20th - Birding Events with Local Author Joe LaFleur

Join Joe LaFleur, author of Mountain Birds of Teller County, for a day of bird activities! Attend just the parts you wish or hang out with us all day!
-We'll begin with a Bird Walk in Austin Bluffs Open Space with Joe from 9am-10:30am, meeting at Wild Birds Unlimited.
-From 11am-noon Joe will give us a presentation on Heavenly Hummingbirds, focusing on identifying and attracting our local species
-Joe will finish the day signing copies of his book and answering any local birding questions you may have!

Earth Week - April 21-27

We have big plans to celebrate Earth Week this year! We will be partnering with Southern Plains Land Trust, a wonderful Colorado Organization dedicated to preserving grassland habitat - a vital habitat for dozens of Colorado bird species! We will provide a discount on your shopping trip in exchange for donations to support their efforts! Every dollar you donate will go directly to Southern Plains Land Trust!

Donation of 1-10 dollars = $5 off your visit
Donation of 11+ dollars = $10 off your visit

We will also have some special giveaways for Earth Day on April 22 and Arbor Day on April 26th as well as a raffle for birdhouses hand-built built by our own Trent!

 

 

May 1st to May 31st - Food Drive Sale!

Bring a non-perishable item or donation for Care and Share and receive a discount on your shopping visit!! May is an important time because kids are out of school and demand on food banks begins rising for the summer.

  • Donation of 1-10 items or dollars = $5 off your visit
  • Donation of 11+ items or dollars = $10 off your visit

Their most needed items are: Canned fruit, vegetables, meat and tuna, soups, peanut butter, and cereal/oatmeal

 

 

Saturday May 4th 11am- Bird Rehab - A Presentation and Q & A Session with Aurora McGee

 

Rehabber Aurora McGee will be here to give a brief presentation on what to do if you find a baby or injured bird, with plenty of time to ask her any questions.

 

 

Saturday June 15th - Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center 11am-3pm

We've all heard that birds are the closest living relatives to Dinosaurs, experts from the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center will be visiting to help us learn more about the Dino's and how they relate to our modern feathered neighbors!
